Electric Home Brewery

A work in progress. Always making changes/improvements. Started out a few years ago with the intention of building a three pot propane setup. Changed my mind and went all electric. All brewing hardware (minus the pots) was purchased from BrewHardware.com. Everything else was from the blue or orange stores. These are 15 gallon pots which allow me to brew a 10 gallon batch.

Built my own cathedral hive. I paid special attention to minimizing any nooks and crannies where pests, namely hive beetles, can hide. I also built it in a way where I can insulate it easily for the winter. The gap between the bars and the top is 3/4 inch. I will use the foil-faced bubble-wrap type of insulation. There's also room between the screen at the bottom and the bottom board for this i...

The bottom half of the headlights were in pretty bad shape and I really cou...

    so if I just want to level the front, just do the keys only, right?

    • @Neon_Sandbox
      @Neon_Sandbox 4 месяца назад

      At first I thought about just turning the existing bolts to raise the front to make the truck sit level but then decided to buy the kit. Mainly because I needed new shocks. I guess just installing the keys would work just fine.

    Good video, a few things, the torsion unloading tool should be on sooner for relief on thread stress, same when loading. When you installed new key you checked for position on key bolt, not necessary, that kit comes with a longer bolt that you should be using. Also after install you still have a 1" or so difference between front and back. You have to adjust the front to LEVEL the truck that is the whole idea behind the kit. Hopefully your new shocks were purchased for the new height, otherwise they will not work properly and wear right out. Good quality video, glad you emphasized that getting out the old key is a bitch, especially if you live in an area that uses road salt. I used a 30lb electric hammer and knocked the torsion bar right out. Finally be prepared, excelerated wear now on front end parts unless you change out the upper control arm, with one for leveled trucks. Good job!!

    • @Neon_Sandbox
      @Neon_Sandbox Год назад

      Thanks fro watching and commenting. I did eventually lower the front end to make it sit level. Looks and rides better. Good suggestion on using the tool before removing the bolt. The kit I got didn't have the longer bolts but did come with the new shocks.

    • @bigredjohnson6921
      @bigredjohnson6921 10 месяцев назад

      I continued to run stock front end parts and did not see excelerated wear over 45,000 miles, but it has been mostly road driving. I do plan on changing upper control arms along with front axle shafts that allow for a greater articulation. Hope this helps. Good luck!

    The Chinese ones they sell on ebay are pure crap. A waste of "50-60 bucks", they're about 80-90 otd now. They Will get water in them, impossible to adjust, will discolor in a month! The only way to get Perfect 03-06 Classic headlights is to buy New GM oem lights at ~$300 a pop. 2nd option, wet sanding and laminX and at that you will see very fine scratches if you look very very closely. Really, just polish them with a buffer and wax, it's a truck after all not a Lamborghini.....

      Well...the colony I had in the topbar hive absconded and I never had any bees in the cathedral hive. A tree branch fell on the cathedral hive and busted the top. This year I made modifications to the original topbar hive and cleaned it up a bit. I caught a new batch of feral bees last month and put them in the topbar hive so we'll see how they do.
